Free ECO 4 Loft Insulation In Flintshire:
Why you may need loft insulation and maybe not even realise it?
A lack of loft insulation is similar to walking outside on a cold day without a hat on, the house will lose lots of heat approximately 25%! With insulation in the loft, you will save (depending on property type) £70-£250 a year, but more importantly it will make your home more comfortable in colder periods.
Are you tired of your home feeling chilly in the winter and stuffy in the summer? Have you considered loft insulation as a solution? Loft insulation is a simple and effective way to keep your home comfortable all year round. In this article, we’ll discuss loft insulation in Flintshire, Wales, and why it’s a smart investment for your home.
Firstly, let’s talk about what loft insulation is. It’s a layer of material that’s laid in the space between the roof and the ceiling of your home. This layer of material helps to prevent heat from escaping your home in the winter, and from entering your home in the summer. This means that your home will be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, making it a more comfortable place to be.
So, why should you consider loft insulation for your Flintshire home? Firstly, it’s an effective way to save money on your energy bills. By preventing heat from escaping your home, you’ll use less energy to keep your home warm in the winter. This means that you’ll save money on your energy bills over time.
Secondly, loft insulation is a low-cost investment. Depending on the size of your home, it can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds to install loft insulation. However, the cost of installation is quickly recouped in energy savings, meaning that you’ll end up saving money in the long run.
Lastly, loft insulation is environmentally friendly. By using less energy to heat your home, you’ll reduce your carbon footprint and help to combat climate change.
Now that we’ve discussed why loft insulation is a smart investment, let’s talk about loft insulation in Flintshire. It’s important to choose an experienced and qualified installer to ensure that your loft insulation is installed correctly. A reputable installer will be able to assess your loft and advise you on the best insulation material for your needs. They’ll also be able to install your loft insulation efficiently, ensuring that it operates effectively.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for an effective and low-cost way to keep your Flintshire home comfortable all year round, loft insulation is a smart investment. By preventing heat from escaping your home, you’ll save money on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint. Just make sure to choose a reputable installer to ensure that your loft insulation is installed correctly.
So what are ECO4 Projects, and how can the people of Flintshire benefit from them?
This is part of a government scheme called ECO, this stands for Energy Company Obligation, it has been running since 2013 and previously there was a similar scheme in place called warm front which ran from 2002. There has also been ECO3 and the natural progression of that is ECO4 which a scheme created by the UK government designed to support households on low incomes who have homes that are not energy efficient.
Okay, so what is it?
This an obligation the utility companies have to meet through carbon savings (carbon saved by energy saving measures being installed in houses), they are set yearly.
Previously we were in ECO3 which was designed to to run till 2022. ECO4 is the next stage of the scheme and is set to run until 2026.
Why is it free for the general public?
This was brought about because of fuel poverty and in some instances where people could not afford to put their in-efficient heating on in their houses, there have been instances of illness due to the cold weather so the scheme was brought in to prevent this.
When does it end?
The utilities companies have an obligation to meet which is called Energy Company Obligation the scheme is to run till 2026. However, due to the nature of the scheme, and the fact that energy companies are trying to meet their obligations, it stands to reason that if they meet their quota half way through a year, they are unlikely to keep providing free solar panels, free boilers and insulation for everybody. So don’t waste time, find out if you are eligible today! Contact us.
How does the ECO4 scheme work?
According to OFGEM: “ECO4 will be a four-year scheme and is intended to run from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026. The main objective of ECO4 is to improve the least energy efficient housing stock occupied by low income and vulnerable households. One route that can be used to identify these households is ‘ECO4 Flexibility’ (ECO4 Flex)”
– I’ll discuss How ECO4 works so this consists of several routes that allow our customers to qualify, quite recently this has been broadened quite significantly meaning a lot more people can benefit from the energy saving measures.

Solar Panels in Flintshire:
Are you considering installing solar panels in Flintshire, Wales? Well, you’re in luck! Flintshire is known for it’s stunning landscapes, but did you know that it’s also a great place for harnessing the power of the sun? In this article, we’ll talk about why solar panels are a great investment in Flintshire, what you need to know before installing them, and some tips to get the most out of your solar panels.
Why get Solar Panels in Flintshire?
Firstly, why install solar panels in Flintshire? The answer is simple – Flintshire receives an average of 1,400 hours of sunshine per year, which is more than enough to power your home with solar energy. By installing solar panels, you can significantly reduce your energy bills by generating your own electricity off the grid.
Now, before you rush out to install solar panels, there are a few things you need to know. Firstly, you need to make sure your roof is suitable for solar panel installation. A south-facing roof is ideal, as it receives the most sunlight throughout the day. However, don’t worry if your roof faces another direction – solar panels can still be installed on a west or east-facing roof, although they will produce slightly less energy.
Another thing to consider is the size of your solar panel system. This will depend on your energy needs and the amount of roof space available. A larger system will generate more energy but will also be more expensive to install. However, you may be eligible for Eco Energy incentives such as the ECO 4 scheme (more details below).
How do I find a quality installer in Flintshire?
When choosing a solar panel installer, it’s important to do your research and choose a reputable company. Look for installers who are certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and have experience installing solar panels in Flintshire. You should also ask for references and check online reviews to ensure that you’re getting a quality installation.
Once your solar panels are installed, there are a few tips to help you get the most out of them. Firstly, make sure they are cleaned regularly to ensure maximum efficiency. Secondly, consider investing in a battery storage system, which will allow you to store excess energy generated during the day and use it at night when the sun isn’t shining. Finally, be mindful of your energy usage and try to use appliances during daylight hours when your solar panels are generating the most energy.
In conclusion, installing solar panels in Flintshire is a great investment that can save you money on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint. With plenty of sunshine throughout the year and Eco Energy incentives available, there’s never been a better time to switch to solar energy. Just remember to choose a reputable installer and take care of your solar panels to ensure they continue to produce energy for years to come.
